DRYDEN – On July 22, 2017 at approximately 11:00PM CDT, officers from the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 502, Van Horne Township, near Dryden.

Police report that a single motor vehicle, a small two-door car travelling north bound lost control and left the roadway coming to rest against a rock cut. Dryden Ambulance and Oxdrift Fire Department attended the scene to assist the occupants of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, Nikolas HO, a 16-year-old resident of Dryden, ON was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the vehicle, an 18-year-old resident of Dryden, ON was transported to Dryden Hospital for treatment as a precaution.

The Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) unit attended the scene to conduct their investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
