Homicide Charges Laid in Death of Kevin Roundhead

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police have made a speedy arrest in the homicide of Kevin Roundhead who was found in the area of Cumberland Street by McVicar’s Creek on Wednesday, July 6, 2017.

Skylar Masakayash, twenty-two-years-old of Thunder Bay has been remanded into custody after appearing in court this morning on Second-Degree Murder and Breach of Probation charges in relation to the death of Kevin Roundhead.

The Thunder Bay Police Service responded to a 911 call just after 4:00 p.m. on July 5, 2017 to attend the area of Cumberland Street at McVicar Creek.

Kevin Roundhead, of Thunder Bay and from Mishkeegogamang First Nation was found severely beaten according to informed sources speaking to NetNewsLedger.com. He was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where advanced life support efforts failed to stabilize or revive him. He was pronounced dead at 10:17PM EDT.

The Criminal Investigation Branch is actively investigating this incident as a homicide.
