Police Deal with Combative Individuals Overnight

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police Service officers had a night where the respect they expect didn’t seem to match the respect they received.

Police responded to a call just after 3:30 AM EST involving a male who had broken into an apartment in the 100 block of May Street South. A forty-two-year-old male had forced his way into the apartment and confronted the male resident.

When police arrived and attempted to take the male intruder into custody, he became extremely combative with the officers. The combative behaviour continued when the male was transported to 1200 Balmoral Street.

Police report that Keith Abraham CHEESEQUAY has been charged with Break and Enter with Intent, Assaulting a Police Officer, Failure to Comply with a Recognizance and Breach of Probation. CHEESE QUAY was remanded into custody for a court appearance on Friday.

In another, unrelated event, Police report that A twenty-six-year-old Thunder Bay man attempted to enter a McLeod Street residence at approximately 3:48 AM EST.

Police was called to the scene and discovered the suspect in front of the residence.

Police say that the man appeared to be intoxicated and it was believed that he had mistaken the residence for his own.

He became combative with police and was taken into custody. Twenty-six-year old Brodie William GALLINGER has been charged with Assaulting a Police Officer. He was been released on an undertaking for a future court date.
