Thunder Bay – One more popsicle for the road…packing up Camp Quality for another year.

“Why are you taking down the trampoline?”
“ Because it is time to go home. “
“Why?”
Exactly, why ?

On Monday most of the volunteers are heading back to work. Where did these people come from? Thunder Bay Regional Health Services, ORNGE Air Ambulance, Resolute, Health Canada, Carstar, Remax, Little Angel Daycare, Our Kids Count, Tikinagan Children& Family Services, McDonalds Restaurants, The Keg, Thunder Bay Insurance, St. Joseph’s Care Group , BISNO, Lakehead Public Schools, CrossFit SubZero, Dave Repay Productions and many University & College students who took time off from their summer jobs. There are also those of us who are retired and semi-retired who have made Camp Quality our new profession.

This morning I couldn’t resist and set up an information booth about some upcoming fundraisers. As a result, we formed two Camp Quality teams for the Thunder Bay Marathon, and signed up teams for The Inside Ride on Sept 18th. www.thunderbay.theinsideride.com.

That wasn’t the only planning ahead that was done. The campers got to make suggestions for what they want for next year. Great suggestions!

ideas
These ideas sound great!

This morning’s activity was the Camp Quality Tennis Annual Championship organized by Meilin and Emily, summer residents of East Loon Lake.

trophies
Two happy campers won these.. Braeden and Katelyn

Highlights for Hope was here today! We all loved getting our highlights and chatting with Kelly Ruberto’s generous volunteers. A Limo was also standing by to take our campers and their companions to Crystal Beach for ice cream and we tubed, swam, had a water fight and began our packing:(

Log books
Camp Quality’s tradition is to send every one home with a Camp logbook. Here the books await our autographs. This involves lots of reflection and conversation- a perfect way to spend our last day.

I suppose I should conclude by saying something deep and meaningful, but quite honestly the music is playing, I am missing the dance and my friends are waiting.
