Police Make Arrest in “Pelting” Incident

eggsTHUNDER BAY – Finally! Over the past weeks, across Facebook, across the Internet, and in the media there have been reports that “pelting” has been going on in our community. Early on Sunday morning, four males in a vehicle were arrested by Thunder Bay Police. The accused are between 16 and 18 years of age and have been charged with Assault With a Weapon following a drive-by incident on the city’s north side.

A 22 year old female called the police after allegedly being hit by paint balls, and eggs as she stood on the corner of Elgin and Cumberland Streets just after 4:30 a.m. on June 5, 2011. The victim was not injured.

Thunder Bay Police report that uniform Patrol Officers were provided with a description of the vehicle and suspects. The four males were arrested after their car was stopped in the 300 block of McIntyre Street just after 5:00 a.m. Sunday.

The three adults were released on promises to appear in court on July 4, 2011. The 16 year old male was released on a promise to appear in court on July 7, 2011.
