Royal Wedding Views Vary Across Canada

royalweddingTHUNDER BAY – Did you get up early? Stay up late? Watch part of the Royal Wedding from London? If you did, you are part of a large number of people in Canada. BBM Canada today released preliminary national TV audience estimates for the coverage of the Royal Wedding. The wedding ceremony and procession aired Friday, April 29 between 6:00a.m. and 8:30a.m. (Eastern Time).

The Royal Wedding had an average minute audience of 5.22 million viewers (39% of which were male and 61% were female). A total of 12.55 million unique viewers (37.8% of the population) watched some portion of the ceremony and procession.

Viewership was lowest in British Columbia, and highest in Atlantic Canada.
