Breaking NewsTHUNDER BAY – The Conservative Government has fallen after a motion of non-confidence in the government brought forward by Michael Ignatieff, the leader of the Liberal Party passed today. The motion passed 156 to 145 with all of the Liberals, New Democrats and Bloc members standing to bring down the government.

The Prime Minister is now expected to head over to Rideau Hall, home of the Governor General early on Saturday morning, to seek that an election be called.

The opposition parties sought to have the non-confidence measure be the sword upon which the Conservative Government fell.

The campaign is expected to run for thirty-seven days, with an early May election.

Across the region, candidates are gearing up their campaigns. Voters can likely expect a barrage of activity over the next thirty-seven days.
