Roads West from Thunder Bay – Use Caution Today!

Weather UpdateTHUNDER BAY – If you are heading west by road today, it might be a good idea to check the weather and road conditions. For the regions of Kenora – Nestor Falls; Dryden – Ignace; Fort Frances – Rainy Lake; Atikokan – Upsala – Quetico; Superior West; Red Lake – Ear Falls; and Sioux Lookout – Savant Lake

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement.

A low pressure system currently located over Northwestern Ontario continues to spread snow at times heavy to the above regions. Total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected by early this afternoon. Brisk northwest winds behind the system are also expected to generate local drifting and blowing with poor visibilities. The snow will taper off later this morning as the system moves further eastward.
