OTTAWA – SPORTS – The Senators topped the Canadiens in a shoot-out on Tuesday to win 5-4.

Brady Tkachuk scored twice for the Ottawa Senators.

“Credit to a lot of guys, but certainly Brady Tkachuk tonight,” says Senators coach D.J. Smith. “He dragged us into that battle. I don’t know if he’s played a better game since I’ve been here.”

Tim Stutzle and Josh Norris each scored on his first NHL shootout attempt for the Senators, who swept the two-game set. They defeated the Canadiens 3-2 in overtime here Sunday.

Drake Batherson had a goal and an assist for Ottawa (6-14-1). Matt Murray made 32 saves and didn’t allow a goal in the shootout.

VANCOUVER – SPORTS – In action in Vancouver on Tuesday night the Edmonton Oilers rallied for a comeback win over the Vancouver Canucks.

Dominik Kahun scored twice, and Leon Draisaitl had three assists to rally the Oilers from a three goals deficit to defeat the Vancouver Canucks 4-3 at Rogers Arena.

Connor McDavid tied the game 3-3 on a power-play one-timer at 4:23 of the third period, and a point shot bounced in off the skate of Tyler Ennis at the side of the net for a 4-3 lead at 13:25.

“After the second period we were down 3-1 and we knew we were going to turn this around,” Kahun said. “That’s something special. I don’t know how to explain it. You just have the feeling here that it doesn’t matter what the score is, we can come back.”
