Chill Promise to Come Back Strong in 2022

Thunder Bay – SPORTS – The Thunder Bay Chill are not going to be playing this season.

The Chill have announced that  that due to the continued global pandemic, the team will not be participating in the 2021 USL League Two Season.

The decision comes after the team decided the health and safety risks were their top priority.

After careful thought and consideration, club leadership determined that the challenges of the existing health crises and border restrictions, are too great of an obstacle to our competition plans. We have therefore made the difficult decision to forego our participation in the 2021 USL League Two season.

“We absolutely support the Thunder Bay Chill decision,” said USL Vice President Joel Nash. “We live in times when it is of paramount importance for some of our clubs to think beyond soccer for the good of their communities, and we look forward to welcoming the Chill back even stronger in 2022.”

“While we are bitterly disappointed about this turn of events, especially for the fans, players, and our supportive Heartland communities, we also vow to come back better than ever in 2022.”
