VANCOUVER – SPORTS – The Vancouver Canucks were led by J.T. Miller and Tyler Motte who each scored two goals, as the Canucks defeated the Ottawa Senators 5-1 at Rogers Arena.

Thatcher Demko made 23 of his 42 saves in the first period backstopping the Canucks (4-5-0) to winning consecutive games for the first time this season.

“The way things are going, one game at a time isn’t going to be good enough,” said Demko after the game, “We’ve got to start stringing some together.”

Elias Pettersson had a goal and an assist, and Quinn Hughes and Jay Beagle each had two assists for the Canucks, who can sweep a three-game set against the Senators with the game Thursday night.
