THUNDER BAY- Entertainment – Jean-Paul De Roover releases new live video EP – Local talent in Thunder Bay is simply amazing. In anticipation of his next full-length album, De Roover has put together something unique. “Most artists are releasing EP’s, but I wanted to do one better,” he states. “I didn’t just want people to hear my new songs, I wanted them to experience them, like they would live.”

This rationale led him to shoot the ‘Live at the Tomlinson Block’ live video EP in the summer of 2012.

Over the course of two days, an assembled crew transformed one of the empty spaces inside the Tomlinson building in downtown Port Arthur into an intimate concert setting. 20 fans and friends gathered in the very warm space for several hours while De Roover poured his heart (and sweat) out on film.

“It was very important for there to be an audience present,” says De Roover. “My live show relies on crowd interaction much more heavily now, and I wanted people to feel that chemistry in these videos.”

JP-Deroover-loopyFour songs were recorded in De Roover’s signature one-man-band style, as a means of showcasing some of the new material he will be releasing later in 2013 as part of his next album,’Complexity in Simplicity’.

Although directed by Curtis Jensen (of Apple Wagon Films), this was a collaborative project between De Roover and producer Amy DeCorte.

The final product was edited by Matt Popowich (of Westfort Films) while Dining Room Studios managed the audio production.

“I wanted to work with some old friends, while bringing some new faces into the fold in order to create something that’s different from my other videos and recordings,” commented the artist.
