Opening in Western Ontario in Fall 2021:

  • FreshCo Court Street, Thunder Bay, ON

The Thunder Bay store is currently a Safeway store, and in Spring 2021, the Safeway on Court Street will close for a four to five-month period for renovations and construction. The location will re-open as a FreshCo store in Fall 2021.

Pharmacy to stay open during Renovations

The Safeway location has a pharmacy, which will remain open during the renovations. Throughout construction, our Safeway pharmacy team will continue to serve customers in a temporary pharmacy location that will be conveniently located at or nearby the current Safeway store. The new FreshCo location will open with a pharmacy department where customers can expect the same great service from our great pharmacy team. There will be no interruption in patient care or customer files.

In addition to the Thunder Bay store, FreshCo also announced six FreshCo locations in Alberta. These stores are existing Safeway locations that will close for renovation in Spring 2021, with plans to open as FreshCo in Fall 2021.

The company says, “At FreshCo, we are committed to providing our customers the freshest foods at a price that can’t be beat.
