Four in Custody in Thunder Bay Drug Investigation – Cocaine and Cash Seized in Secord Street Drug Bust

Thunder Bay – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police have four suspects in custody amid a drug trafficking investigation that led to the search of a north-side home Thursday evening .

The Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence and Emergency Task Units, along with members of the OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, executed a search warrant at a residential address in the 100 block of Secord Street at about 5:50 pm EST on Thursday, January 21, 2021.
The search warrant was obtained amid an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity in the area .

Police located six individuals inside the home when police entered, and an investigation identified four individuals as being suspects. They were arrested without further incident and transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.

As a result of their search, police located and seized a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

Further investigation led to a second search warrant being obtained and executed at a hotel room in the 400 block of Memorial Avenue just after 2 am Friday, January 22, 2021.

The room was connected to one of the four suspects arrested – an 18-year-old Quebec man.

As a result of that search police located and seized a quantity of currency believed to have been obtained via drug trafficking activity.

The amount of currency seized is believed to be more than $5,000.

List of Suspects Arrested

Christine Joyce ANDERSON, 58, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Danik BALLABEY, 18, of Longueuil, Que., is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Failure to Comply with Undertaking x 3

Mark Patrick John MYERS, 50, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Failure to Comply with a Judicial Release
• Breach of Probation

Amber Lynn TOWEDO, 21, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Failure to Comply with a Judicial Release

All accused appeared in bail court on Friday, January 22, 2021, and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.

All accused are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
