Thomas Atkinson Faces Break and Enter Charges Following Crime Spree

Fort Frances – NEWS – A Fort Frances man faces multiple charges for a three day spree of break and enters in the community.

OPP report that on January 11, 2021, shortly after 8:00 am officers from the rainy river district detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a break and enter at a local business on First Street East in Fort Frances.

As a result of the investigation,  Thomas ATKINSON (30) of Fort Frances is charged with:

  • Break and Enter
  • Theft under $5000
  • Mischief under $5000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime and
  • Possession of Heroine

On January 12, 2021 shortly before 2:00 pm officers were called to a break and enter at a pharmacy in Fort Frances. Officers conducted an investigation and as a result Thomas ATKINSON (30) of Fort Frances  has been charged with:

  • Break and Enter;
  • Theft under $5000 and
  • Possession of Property obtained by crime.

On January 13, 2021 shortly before 2:00 pm OPP officers attended a break and enter and 2 separate pharmacies in Fort Frances. With the assistance of the Northwest Region K9 and NWR Emergency Response Team, Thomas Atkinson was taken into custody and charged with:

  • 2 counts of Break and Enter
  • 2 Counts of Possession of Property Obtained by crime.

This investigation is ongoing and members of the public who may have any information regarding the break and enters, or the trafficking of stolen goods is urged to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous information can be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The accused is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
