THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – There are some real contrasts this morning between Western Ontario weather and Northern Ontario weather.

In Ontario North, there are freezing rain warnings in effect, across Western Ontario there are unseasonably warm temperatures. By Friday, the high in Thunder Bay is forecast for +18c. It is +3 in Thunder Bay this morning at 06:00 am EST. In Washaho Cree Nation it is -3.

The warm weather is expected to extend into Monday.

Thunder Bay Forecast

For Thunder Bay, expect, for Thursday, mainly sunny skies with a high of +12. For tonight there will be partly cloudy skies with an overnight low of +5.

Heading into the weekend, Friday will see a forecast high of +18c and an overnight low of +4c. The good weather will continue into Saturday with a forecast high of +10c.

Sandy Lake

In Sandy Lake, it will be mainly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of flurries early this morning. Periods of snow mixed with ice pellets and freezing rain are forecast to start late this afternoon. Winds will be northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light this morning. High plus 1. Wind chill minus 7 this morning.

Tonight, those periods of snow mixed with ice pellets and freezing rain will end after midnight then cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of flurries. There remains a risk of freezing drizzle overnight. Local snow and ice pellet amount 5 to 10 cm. Temperature steady near zero.

On Friday, Sandy Lake can expect cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of flurries and risk of freezing drizzle. Winds up to 15 km/h. The temperature will fall to minus 4 in the afternoon. Wind chill near minus 9.

Dryden

For Dryden, expect a mix of sun and cloud. Thursday’s high 10.

For tonight, there will be partly cloudy skies with a low of +8. Heading into Friday, mainly sunny skies with a daytime high of
+16.
