Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Pikangikum – Poplar Hill – MacDowell
  • Sandy Lake – Weagamow Lake – Deer Lake
  • Big Trout Lake – Kasabonika
  • Webequie
  • Attawapiskat

Environment Canada says that rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Total rainfall amounts 50 to 70 millimetres can be expected as a low-pressure system from Manitoba intensifies and tracks eastward through the regions. This weather system is the stem of the “Alberta Clipper” hitting into Manitoba.

The rain will begin Sunday and then for regions east of Big Trout Lake and Summer Beaver the rain will continue into Monday morning. Significant wind will accompany this weather system after the rain and wind warnings may be issued later this weekend.
