THUNDER BAY – POLITICS – Thunder Bay Atikokan MPP Judith Monteith-Farrell shares insights into the transportation needs of Northwestern Ontario.

The issue of intercommunity bus service came up this week at a meeting held with Northern Ontario MPPs.

The COVID-19 pandemic has seriously impacted the transportation sector, and while there are supports for wages and rent, there remains, for the transportation sector that the travel restrictions have hit especially hard, no supports for insurance and leases.

Greyhound Canada, VIA Rail, and Ontario Northland have all reduced or suspended routes, Thunder Bay based Kasper Transportation has also suspended service. Monteith-Farrell shares insight into the New Democrats’ efforts to protect transportation in Northwestern Ontario.
