Charges laid following fight at Landmark Inn

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Police Service has identified the deceased located in the area of Arundel Street near Lyon Boulevard.

An investigation into the sudden death began in the afternoon hours of Monday, April 27, 2020, after police were notified of the possible discovery of a body by a passerby. The victim has since been identified as Kayleigh IVALL, 14, of Thunder Bay.

Members of the service’s Criminal Investigation Branch, including investigators from the Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units, have since been investigating the circumstances surrounding this death.

Police are treating this as a homicide investigation. This marks the fifth homicide of the year for Thunder Bay.

The identity of the victim was released following consultation with the next of kin.

Police are continuing to hold the scene as their investigation continues. A post-mortem is being scheduled to take place in Toronto.
