COVID-19 Update: Canada United States Border to Close – Prime Minister Trudeau

OTTAWA – Prime Minister Trudeau updated Canadians today and took questions from the media over the evolving situation with COVID-19 and the Government of Canada’s response to the situation.

The Prime Minister outlined the steps that the Government of Canada is taking.

Prime Minister Trudeau was speaking to reporters and cameras from outside his residence at Rideau Cottage,  as he continues to self-isolate after his wife contracted COVID-19, PM Trudeau says that Canada will be closing the Canada – United States border for tourists and non-essential visitors by the weekend. “We are continuing to work on the fine-tuning of the agreement between Canada, the United States. I think it’s almost there. My understanding is that the measures will probably come into place in the night between Friday and Saturday, so in about a day and a half,” Trudeau told media earlier today.
