THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – The Lakehead Thunderwolves women’s volleyball team played host to the Brock Badgers Saturday afternoon and were handed a 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-20) at the Thunderdome.
“Both teams fought hard today,” said head coach Craig Barclay.
“It was a really entertaining game to be a part of. On our side very calm and never willing to give up. We pushed a nationally ranked team hard today.”
Megan Nahachewsky had six kills to lead the Thunderwolves, while Gillian Hansen and Abigail Almontre each finished with five kills. Hansen also added four solo blocks to her season total and is currently leading the OUA with 31 blocks.
Laura Condotta led the Badgers with a game-high 15 kills.
“We will get back to the video tonight and see what adjustments we can make tomorrow,” said Barclay.
“Tomorrow is a very special day as it is our Seniors Day Game. We have one graduating senior in Rachel Sweezey. We are excited to celebrate her career tomorrow.”
The Thunderwolves and Badgers will finish their weekend set Sunday afternoon at 2 pm at the Thunderdome.
