Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death Charges to be Filed

WINNIPEG – The RCMP in Manitoba report that the victim of a collision between a pedestrian and a motor vehicle that happened on January 7, 2020 has led to the death of the 27-year-old pedestrian.

RCMP say on January 8, 2020, the 27-year-old female pedestrian succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

As a result, charges of Impaired Operation of a Vehicle Causing Death are pending against the 30-year-old female driver.

Earlier – On January 7, 2020, at approximately 11:00 pm, Fisher Branch RCMP responded to a collision involving a pedestrian on East Road, on Peguis First Nation.

The investigation has determined that a vehicle, driven by a 30-year-old female was traveling north on East Road when she collided with a 27-year-old female pedestrian, who was believed to be walking on the side of the road.

The 27-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 30-year-old driver was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm and charges are pending.

RCMP are contining their investigation.
