Lac Seul FN – Sudden Death under Investigation

LAC SEUL FIRST NATION – On January 2, 2020, Lac Seul Police Service requested the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) into the investigation of a sudden death that occurred at a residence on Lac Seul First Nation.

The deceased has been identified at Michael SAWANAS (35-years-old) of Sandy Lake First Nation, Ontario.

Officers of the Sioux Lookout OPP, in conjunction with the OPP North West Region Crime Unit under the direction of Acting Detective Inspector Karl Duewel OPP Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

There are no public safety concerns at this time.
