THUNDER BAY – As part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations held on New Year’s Day, a time-capsule from 25 years ago was opened and on display at the O’Kelly VC Armoury.

The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Mayor Bill Mauro, Councillor Shelby Ch’ng, City Clerk Krista Power, and City Archivist Matt Szybalski all participated in opening the time capsule and showcasing the contents for those in attendance.

The rest of the items will be on display at City Hall throughout the year. In early February, new items for the 50th Anniversary Time Capsule will start to be gathered from the community throughout the year.
