Traffic Investigation into Fatal Crash Closes Highway 17

RAITH – The Ontario Provincial Police report that Highway 17 west of Raith will remain closed for much of Monday.  Police are continuing to investigate a fatal motor vehicle accident that occured on Sunday evening.

The OPP say two tractor-trailer units were involved in a head on collision and became engulfed in fire.

As yet there is no word on the number of victims or their identity.

Traffic is being detoured from Highway 11 to Highway 622 which exits to Dryden and Highway 11 to Highway 71 which exits to Kenora.
