THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Fire Rescue on November 4, 2019, at approximately 01:00 am EST received a call for a Structural Fire located on the 400 block of Connolly Street.

The two occupants were alerted to the fire in the rear of the structure by an unidentified passerby. The two individuals escaped the structure sustaining no injuries.

First responding units while crossing the East End Bridge observed a large amount of smoke and flames emanating from that location. A second alarm was called for at that time. A total of 5 Pumpers, Platoon Chief and an Ariel Ladder Unit were called to the scene.

First arriving units brought the fire quickly under control that was located in the rear attached storage unit and all second alarm units were cleared from the scene. No injuries were sustained by the occupants or responding personnel.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
