23-Year-Old Woman Faces Impaired Driving Charges

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police report on another case of an apparently impaired driver.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched just after midnight on Monday, July 8 to the area of Arthur and Brodie Streets for reports of a motor vehicle collision.

When police arrived they found that a sedan had collided with a light pole, causing extensive damage to the vehicle and some damage to the light pole. They also located the driver, who was sitting outside of the vehicle.

The driver was assessed by paramedics before being released to police. As a result of their investigation, officers arrested the driver for impaired driving.

A breath analysis determined the driver had a blood alcohol concentration of 153 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

A 23-year-old Thunder Bay woman is charged with Operations While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs, and Operations while Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration.

She was released from police custody on a promise to appear with a court date of August 20, 2019.
