Thunder Bay Divers Compete at Summer Provincials in Nepean

NEPEAN – SPORTS – Four TBDC athletes competed this past weekend at the Summer Provincial Diving Championships in Nepean. Siblings Michael and Jaden Doerr competed in the 11 and 13-year-old groups, respectively, while Abbey Meloche and Christopher Lake-Voros competed in the 16-18 age groups.

The competition saw almost 130 entrants from across Ontario and Quebec.

Michael Doerr finished 4thand 5thin his age group on 5m platform and 1m springboard events, respectively. Jaden Doerr finished 10thand 12thin her age group on the 1m and 3m springboards.

Abbey Meloche placed 2nd, 4th, and 5th in her 1m springboard, 10m platform, and 3m springboard events, respectively.

Christopher Lake-Voros competed in the 3m springboard, earning a bronze medal.

Sights now shift to the Manitoba Provincial Championships being held in 10 days. Thunder Bay Diving Club will have 14 divers competing at that competition.
