THUNDER BAY – Opps! A new Heinz condiment Mayochup has an unfortunate translation in the Cree language. Mayochup loosely translates to “shitfaced” or “shit is on my face”.

“We the Cree people are laughing about it because of what it means in our language,” says Grand Chief Jonathan Solomon.

The messaging has gone viral and international with media outlets reporting on the translation snafu globally.

“We have heard about the unfortunate translation of Mayochup in Cree, and the only thing we want our consumers, whichever dialect of Cree they speak, to have on their faces this summer is our newest condiment mash-up,” said Kraft Heinz spokesman Michael Mullen in an emailed statement.
