THUNDER BAY – Update – Staff have completed the repairs to the water main on Lynda Avenue and Kerega Avenue and both roads have been reopened.

A Precautionary Boil Water Advisory has been issued to 13 homes on Lynda Av. and will be lifted when confirmation of passing bacteriological samples have been received.

The replacement of the hydrant on Broadway is still ongoing, no water services are affected but the road remains closed at this time.

Synergy North will have staff on site to install new anchors and will work with our crews to backfill the base of the pole so they are able to move their support truck off the roadway so the road may be opened to traffic.

Earlier – Broadway Avenue, west of Highway 61, Lynda Avenue and Kerega Avenue are closed due to a water main break.

Residents are asked to use Rosslyn Road as there is no access to Broadway Avenue from Highway 61.

The road will be closed to through traffic however, local traffic will be permitted from the west side. Motorists are asked to use extra caution and obey all posted signage when travelling near the construction areas.

Residents in the area may experience disruptions to water services due to this. Residents are asked to direct questions and report observations of low water pressure, discoloured water, or no water service to Infrastructure and Operations Dispatch at 625-2195.
