THUNDER BAY – On Good Friday, most major stores and shopping malls are closed. The Beer Store and LCBO are closed today.

If you didn’t stock up groceries wise, you have a few options. George’s Market on River Street and Skafs in Current River at 470 Hodder Avenue are open. Circle K Convenience Stores are open as well.

Thunder Bay Transit is operating on a holiday schedule.

Several of Thunder Bay’s popular stops are closed for the holiday weekend. The Hub on Victoria Avenue is closed until Tuesday. Bay Village Coffee is also closed for the long weekend. Nippers Takeout is also taking some family time this weekend.

Government offices are closed as well.

Dining-wise unless it is fast food, it is probably a good idea to call ahead to make sure your favourite place is open.

Kevin Johnson shares that Swiss Chalet will be open from noon to 7 pm today.

Brian Hamilton shares that the Bean Fiend on Algoma in the Bay/Algoma district is open today.

Tony Romas is open Friday 12pm-11pm, Saturday 11am-11pm, Sunday & Monday 12pm-9pm.

The Moose and Goose Bar and Grill feature Beer battered pickerel with chips: Homestyle baked lasagna and tomato sauce with garlic toast. and Hoss’s pulled BBQ pork sandwich on garlic loaf with fries.

The Pass Lake Restaurant is serving Finn Pancakes and opens from 5 am to 11 pm daily!

Centennial Botanical Conservatory is open: Friday, April 19, 10 am – 8 pm Saturday, April 20, 12 – 8 pm Sunday, April 21, 12 – 8 pm Monday, April 22, 10 am – 4 pm
