Stony Mountain Inmate Stabbed – Murder Charges Laid

WINNIPEG – On April 13, 2019, at 1:00 pm, Stonewall RCMP received a report that a 27-year-old male inmate at the Stony Mountain Institution had been stabbed.

Officers were advised that the 27-year-old male inmate suffered life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased at the scene after an altercation with three other inmates.

RCMP have arrested and charged three males in relation to this homicide.

• Stephen Wilfred Wood, 31, has been charged with Second Degree Murder.
• Stephen Michael Konowalchuk, 36, has been charged with Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.
• Adrian Joseph Sefa, 27, has been charged with Assault.

Officers from the Stonewall Detachment, along with RCMP Major Crime Services, continue to investigate
