RED LAKE – WEATHER – Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Rain Warning for Red Lake and Ear Falls and extending east. There are also snowfall warnings in effect further north and east.

The weather service reports, “A period of freezing rain is expected to begin early Sunday morning and may continue into the afternoon before transitioning to rain followed by snow.

Ice accretion is possible with this event. Untreated surfaces such as roads and walkways may become icy.

Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Ear Falls – Perrault Falls – Western Lac Seul
  • Red Lake – Woodland Caribou Park

Drivers are asked to slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
