THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Fire Rescue report that at 18:38 pm EDT on April 4, 2019, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue received a report of a house on fire on the 300 block of Dacre St.

The first arriving units encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the home. A second alarm was called resulting in a total of 5 pumpers, 1 aerial ladder unit, and the Platoon Chief responding to the call.

Fire Rescue report that nobody was home at the time of the fire and two cats were rescued from the house.

Two adults and 4 children were displaced by the fire and were cared for by Red Cross who found them accommodation for the night.

The home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage, and the cause is under investigation.
