THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre (the Hospital), in consultation with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU), has declared an end to the recent Influenza A outbreak at the Hospital.
The outbreak has been declared over with no further new cases developing within the 1A inpatient unit. The outbreak lasted for a total of ten days.
The Hospital thanks the community for its co-operation.
One of the most effective ways to prevent and reduce the spread of infections is by using proper hand hygiene. The Hospital reminds people to wash their hands often for at least 15 seconds with soap and warm water, or by using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
