18-Year-Old Man Dies in Snowmobile Accident

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Sad news to report this morning. Thunder Bay Police Service is reporting on the death of an 18-year-old man.

Police state that “On March 17th, 2019, at 3:44 am, Thunder Bay Policwasre dispatched to a field in the area of Boulter Road and John Street Road in the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge for a single vehicle collision involving a snowmobile.

The investigation has revealed that the snowmobile, driven by an 18-year-old Thunder Bay male, was travelling in a northbound direction across a field when it collided with a large row of hay bales.

The 18-year-old male driver died as a result of the injuries sustained in this collision.

The Thunder Bay Police Traffic Unit attended the scene and gathered evidence.

The investigation is ongoing.

Next of kin has been notified. The identity of the deceased is being withheld at the request of the family.
