Sioux Lookout Man Arrested in Thunder Bay for Drug Trafficking

SIOUX LOOKOUT – NEWS – A Sioux Lookout man has been arrested and charged with drug trafficking offences in Thunder Bay.

On Monday, March 11, 2019 members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) with assistance from the Sioux Lookout Detachment of the OPP conducted an investigation into an alleged drug courier operating throughout the North West Region. Police located the suspect in Thunder Bay and effected an arrest.

Officers located and seized 18 grams of cocaine, electronic devices and approximately $2310 cash.

As a result of this investigation, Michael O’GORMON (39) of Sioux Lookout, Ontario has been charged with;

  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5000 contrary to Section

354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

  • Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Thunder Bay Provincial Court by video on March 15th, 2019 to answer to the charges.
