KENORA – “The health and safety of patients and families is a priority for our government,” said Greg Rickford, MPP Kenora-Rainy River, “We are making essential investments in our hospitals to ensure our providers have the facilities they need to continue to provide excellent quality care to patients. This funding will help ensure that the Lake of the Woods District hospital and hospitals across Ontario are able to make the needed upgrades, improvements and maintenance so patients and families have access to reliable, quality care they expect and deserve.”
The Ontario Government for the People is prioritizing the health and safety of patients by taking immediate action and providing 128 hospitals across the province with funding to upgrade, repair and maintain their facilities.
The Lake of the Woods District Hospital located in the heart of Kenora, Ontario is receiving funding this year through Ontario’s Health and Long-Term Care ministry.
The Lake of the Woods District Hospital is receiving close to $1 million dollars in funding. These funds will be used for a number of hospital upgrades, repairs and maintenance. These include but are not limited to replacement of water lines, new hot water tanks, upgrades on compressors and chillers for air conditioning, safety and security projects, various renovations and heating upgrades, renovations in the reception area and kitchen at the Morningstar Centre, pharmaceutical equipment and IT projects targeted at renewing software systems necessary for patient care.
