FORT FRANCES – WEATHER – Back to the cold zone for parts of Northwestern Ontario. Environment Canada has issued an Extreme Cold Warning for Fort Frances, Atikokan, Shebandowan, Mine Centre and Seine River Village.

The weather services say that wind chill values will be near -40c overnight.

Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:

  • Atikokan – Shebandowan – Quetico Park
  • Fort Frances – Emo – Rainy River
  • Seine River Village – Mine Centre

Extreme wind chill values near minus 40 are expected overnight and Sunday morning.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.

Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.
