Christina Street Stand-off Ends Peacefully

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police are reporting that a stand-off on Christina Street East has ended without injuries.

In a media release issued early on Sunday morning police state that the standoff in the 200 block of Christina Street East has ended peacefully.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to a call for service about an individual in distress inside a home just before 10:30 pm Saturday, February 16, 2019.

A command post was established and the service’s Emergency Task Unit was deployed to help contain an area.

Police made contact with the resident, who agreed to exit the home sometime after 3 am The resident exited and surrendered to police.

The individual was then transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Police would like to thank residents in the contained area for their patience and cooperation during this incident.
