A Great Start to the TBGA Competitive Season!

Over the last two weekends, Thunder Bay Gymnastics Association (TBGA) has attended 2 competitions

THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – Over the last two weekends, Thunder Bay Gymnastics Association (TBGA) has attended 2 competitions.

Our Junior Olympic Women’s Team attended the Allstars Superhero Challenge in Brampton, Ontario on February 1st & 2nd.

Highlights: Avery Marshall won 1st All-Around, achieving a medal on every event and obtained a special award for most Expressive Dance on Floor! Rhea Scollie came in 2nd all around achieving medals placing on 3 out of 4 events, with first place on Bars. Alyssa Sullivan had a strong meet achieving 3rd on Bars and 5th All-Around! Jacey Witiluk came in 3rd on Floor and 4th All-Around! Charlotte Gregory was close behind achieving 4th on Floor and 6th All-Around.  Kaylee Witiluk achieved some personal bests! Amber Taylor had a great start to her year in Level 8! Avery Mair came in 2nd on Floor with a new back tuck and 3rd All-Around! Phoenix Debrusk achieved some personal bests and obtained a 5th place on Beam with a beautiful acro connection! It was the first meet ever for most of our Level 4 athletes (Milla Goodman, Mikalah Pasqualino, Mya Fell and Leanna Eade) and they accomplished all the goals they set for themselves! Special Mention to Leanna Eade who came in 5th on Vault and Milla Goodman who came in 2nd place on Vault and 3rd All-Around

Our Men’s Team also attended the Allstars Superhero Challenge in Brampton, Ontario on February 3rd.

Highlights: David Harris came in 1st All-Around achieving 1st place on 4/6 events. Matthew Armstrong came in 3rd All-Around achieving medals on 4/6 events. Mitchell Fell came in 3rd All-Around achieving medals on 4/6 events. Adam Wright came in 2nd place on Floor and 4th All-Around! Orryn Pudden came in 3rd on Rings and 5th All-Around!

Our Xcel Team attended the Laketown “Sail into Spring” Invitation in Waconia, Minnesota on February 9th & 10th.

Highlights: All the girls were attending their first competition ever! They accomplished the goals they set out to achieve and made new friends!

Kali Zawadzki pushed through the crowd coming in 4th place on beam out of 19!

Congratulations to our Team! It was a great start to the season. We’re excited to see what they will accomplish in Fargo, North Dakota in March!
