Watermain Break Impacting Tbaytel Services in Thunder Bay

Service Restored

THUNDER BAY – Tbaytel reports: Please note that due to work being done to repair the water main break on Memorial Ave., Tbaytel is currently experiencing an outage affecting multiple Tbaytel services for a number of Thunder Bay customers.

As of 9:00 pm, our technicians have restored services to several customers. Work will continue Tuesday morning with updates provided as they become available.

Update – Thunder Bay Police report telephone service restored.

Earlier – A watermain break on Memorial Avenue is impacting Tbaytel in Thunder Bay.

Water Main Repairs Resulted in Multiple Service Outage for Tbaytel Customers

As a result of work being done to repair a broken water main on Memorial Ave., Tbaytel is currently experiencing an outage affecting landline phone, TV, internet and mobility services for a number of Thunder Bay customers.

Tbaytel technicians are aware of the issue and are awaiting access to the site to fully assess the outage and restore service. At this time, the estimated time of service restoration is unknown; however, updates will be provided via Tbaytel’s Maintenance & Outage Alerts page at tbaytel.net/alerts as they become available.

The utility advises, “Please note that due to work being done to repair the water main break on Memorial Ave., Tbaytel is currently experiencing an outage affecting multiple Tbaytel services for a number of Thunder Bay customers. Our technicians are aware of the issue and are awaiting clearance to access the site and assess the outage. Currently, the estimated time for service restoration is unknown; however, we will provide information as it becomes available.”

As a result of this issue it is impacting Thunder Bay Police Service and the police state:

“Please be advised that the Thunder Bay Police Service’s non-emergency line (684-1200) is currently down due to a Tbaytel outage. Tbaytel is working to repair this outage.

“The emergency 911 line is working, but be aware of possible intermittent issues. If you fail to connect to 911 please immediately try again.

The public is asked to NOT call the emergency line for non-emergency calls. If you need to make a non-emergency call to the Thunder Bay Police Service, please wait for Tbaytel to resolve the current issue.”
