FORT FRANCES – WEATHER – Environment Canada has updated the special weather statement to a Snowfall Warning for several reasons in Northwestern Ontario.

The Colorado Low continues to track northward and is now predicted to bring significant snow to the region.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Atikokan – Shebandowan – Quetico Park
  • Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls – Morson
  • Fort Frances – Emo – Rainy River
  • Seine River Village – Mine Centre

Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

Significant snowfall beginning this evening.

Snow at times heavy will begin this evening. Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm are expected by the time the snow ends late Monday afternoon.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
