Peewee Kings complete successful weekend in Wisconsin

Hayward, Wis. – SPORTS – The Thunder Bay peewee Kings capped off a successful three-game neural site series in Hayward, Wis., going 2-0-1 overall against the Green Bay Jr. Gamblers.

Thunder Bay took the opener 3-1 Saturday afternoon before the two sides skated to a 1-1 draw in the nightcap.

Sunday saw the Kings conclude things with a 4-1 victory.

Game one saw Emerson DeGiacomo tally twice while Nicholas Holomego added the other marker.

Carter George made 17 saves in net in the win for Thunder Bay who fired 28 shots on the Green Bay goal.

Saturday’s second match-up featured Matthew Lysak scoring the lone Thunder Bay goal in the tie with the Jr. Gamblers.

The Kings held the edge in shots by a 25-14 count with Chase Furlong getting the nod between the pipes.

In Sunday’s finale Carter Deschamps, Peter Forester, Max Leduc and Jack Lambert all found the back of the net for Thunder Bay in the triumph while George made 18 saves to secure the win.
