Theft and Assault Charges Result from Incident in Gorham Township

THUNDER BAY – On January 22, 2019, at approximately 6:34 am, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault that occurred in Gorham Township.

A male attended a residence in Gorham Township, assaulted a female and stole items from the residence. The female was not injured during the altercation.

A 23-year-old male from Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Robbery with Theft contrary to section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
  • Assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code
  • Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking contrary to section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code

He has been remanded into custody at the Thunder Bay District Jail.
