Snowfall Warning for Marathon – Schreiber – Wawa – January 22/19

MARATHON – WEATHER – Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Marathon and Schrieber. The weather service is calling for as much as 20cm of snow.

The snow could impact your travel plans make sure to check road conditions before heading east from Thunder Bay today.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Marathon – Schreiber
  • Wawa – Pukaskwa Park

Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

Significant snowfall today into tonight.

A trough approaching from the west will bring a general snowfall to the areas near and north of Lake Superior today into tonight. Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 centimetres are likely by the time the snow comes to an end in the wake of the trough later tonight.

Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
