Death of Barbara Kentner Now a Murder Trial

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Brayden Bushby has been ordered to stand trial on a second-degree murder charge for the death of Barbara Kentner. Justice Valente made the ruling at the Thunder Bay District Court today, following a decision last week to extend the time before making a decision.

Bushby was charged with aggravated assault following an incident where a trailer hitch was thrown at Barbara Kentner resulting in serious injuries, and later her death.

The initial charges stemmed from an incident in January 2017. Bushby was first charged in February 2017 with Aggravated Assault. In July 2017, Barbara Kentner died in hospital. The charges were upgraded in November 2017.

Justice Valente heard evidence in September 2018 on the matter.

The details of the preliminary trial are subject to a publication ban
