Cathy’s Discount Scene of Afternoon Robbery

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to reports of a robbery at convenience store in the 200 block of Red River Road at about 3:30 pm on Thursday, January, 17.

Police report that they uncovered that a male had entered the Cathy’s Discount Gift Centre on Red River Road and demanded cigarettes and cash from the clerk. The accused was armed with what is believed to be a handgun during the robbery.

The male left the convenience store with cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash. The accused was last seen heading eastbound on Red River Road toward Water Street.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male standing about 5’10” tall and possibly weighing between 200 and 230 pounds. He had short dark brown hair and a dark brown beard. He wore a blue and grey scarf coverig his mouth area, and a dark navy with grey tint puffy jacket at the time of the incident.
