Mitaanjigamiing First Nation – From Grand Council Treaty #3 Ogichidaa Kavanaugh has expressed his condolences to Chief Janice Henderson of Mitaanjigamiing First Nation on the tragic house fire in her community.

On December 10, Paul Henderson’s family home was consumed by fire which resulted in the tragic loss of a child.  Ogichidaa Kavanaugh stated, “I am deeply shocked and saddened with the news of the tragedy and as a father and a grandfather, I know that there are no words which can convey my sympathies to the Henderson family on the loss of their young son, Marcus.

Grand Council Treaty#3 extends its thanks to all the surrounding First Nations, Weechi-it-te-win Family Services, Treaty#3 police, Fort Frances Tribal Health, Red Cross, Victim Services, and local businesses who have come forward to assist the family, extended family and community members during this time of grief and need.
