THUNDER BAY – Starting today, the intersection of Vickers Street North and Victoria Avenue East is closed to all motor vehicle traffic due to water infrastructure repairs. Work is expected to be complete before the end of the day on Thursday, Oct. 25.
Local businesses will remain open during the construction. To permit access to the businesses in this area, barricades have been set-up at the intersections of Victoria Avenue and Harold Street, Victoria Avenue and McKellar Street, Vickers Street and Donald Street, and Vickers Street and Miles Street.
Motorists are asked to use Harold Street, Donald Street, McKellar Street and Miles Street to route around this intersection during the construction.
The bus stop on Vickers Street in front of the White Cedar Health Centre will be unavailable during the construction.
Pedestrian and cycling traffic along Victoria Avenue is available.
Residents are asked to use extra caution and obey all posted signage when travelling near the construction area.
